Our History

Virginia Golf Cars was established in Newport News, Virginia at its current location in 1957 when the company mainly serviced electric vehicles popular on the market at the time. Over time and the advent and popularity of electric and gas golf carts – or officially known as golf cars in its early history – the company has evolved into the full service golf cart sales, rental and services facility it is today. ~ Don & Dianne Ligon – Owners

Our company name states our expertise. When it comes to golf cart batteries, not all of them should be considered the same. Our staff consists of career golf cart repair service techs with decades of experience with gas and golf cart electric models in our 2000+ sq. ft. Newport News facility. Installations of custom bodies, lift kits, accessories and applying scratch and dent-proof body coatings are a frequent service we provide.
